Tollywood veteran actor Mohan Babu has been sentenced to 1 year jail in a cheque bounce case by Erramanzil Court. Apart from the sentence, the court has imposed a fine of Rs 41.75 Lakhs for Collection King Mohan Babu. The court has also clarified that all the sentences would be served concurrently.
The actor and producer Mohan Babu received this punishment in a cheque bounce case filed by the director YVS Chowdary. In 2010, YVS Chowdary helmed Saleem in which Mohan Babu’ son Manchu Vishnu played the lead role. Mohan Babu handed over a cheque of Rs 48 Lakh to YVS Chowdary as part of remuneration for Saleem but the cheque got invalid. Later the film makers repeatedly asked Mohan Babu to give the money but he refused. On this the director cum producer YVS Chowdary approached the court.
on 2nd April, the court had held Mohan Babu guilty in the case. The court has accused Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures as A1 whereas Mohan Babu as A2. After hearing and arguments, the court gave its verdict and sentenced to 1 year jail to Mohan Babu.

Few days ago, Manchu family including MohanBabu, Manchu Vishnu and Manchu Majoj openly criticized Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for not releasing the money to their college.
