According to the latest buzz in the film industry, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is all set to play the role of former Chief Minister of TamilNadu Jayalalithaa. Vishnu Induri of Vibri Media acquired the rights of her life story and AL Vijay is on the board to direct the project. The upcoming film will be titled Thalaivi and directed by Devi filmmaker A L Vijay.
Film critic Jalapathy Gudelli shared the news on Twitter, saying, #KanganaRanaut has officially signed to play #Jayalalithaa in biopic of the legendary actress and former TN CM. A L Vijay directs this film titled #Thalaivi@vishinduri is producing it, while Vijayendra Prasad has penned the script.”
The upcoming movie will be a bilingual, titled Jaya in Hindi. It will be produced by Vishnu Induri of Vibri media and Shaailesh R Singh of Karma entertainment. Names like Keerthy Suresh, Vidya Balan and Nithya Menen have been considered to match Jayalalithaa on screen. But finally the makers roped Kanagna Ranaut to reprise the role of Jayalalithaa.
Kangana Ranaut was last seen in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, the biopic of Rani Laxmibai. She is also working on a biopic of herself and the story is penned by Baahubali, Banjrangi Bhaijaan and Manikarnika fame write Vijayendra Prasad.
Top writer V Vijayendra Prasad will also pen the script of Kangana Ranaut starrer Thalaivi and the regular shoot will commence from June this year. Kangana Ranaut has already started preparing for the role.
Kangana Ranaut is well known face for Telugu audiences as she has shared the screen space with Prabhas in Ek Niranjan, which was released in 2009. Now Prabhas’ girl friend Kangana Ranaut is getting ready to play the role of ex-chief Minister Jayalalithaa.
