Madhavi Latha gets BJP MLA ticket from Guntur

Pasupuleti Latha Madhavi aka actress Madhavi Latha  is going to contest Andhra Pradesh assembly elections. She  joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) sometime ago. On Sunday, BJP released a list of 177 candidates for the assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh and Arunachal Pradesh. The actress has been declared as MLA candidate for Guntur assembly constituency. Last year, BJP fielded Reshma Rathod in Telangana assembly polls in Wyra constituency.  This year, Madhavi Latha bagged an MLA Ticket to test her luck in the upcoming Assembly Polls. BJP is fielding Madhavi Latha in Guntur West Constituency.

After filing her nomination on Wednesday, Madhavi Latha said, “When I was in studying in Class 8, I wanted to be a politician and my dream was to become a National leader.”

Hailing from Prakasam district, Madhvai Latha has been camping in Guntur for the last few months and meet the people. The actress said, “My focus is on children and woman. I also want to develop the Guntur which has been neglected. Most of people I have met, treated me like a part of their family.”

She further said, “I entered politics to serve the people and not just for time-pass. I will give tough fight.”

Madhvai Latha made her Telugu debut with Athidi, which was released in 2007. Her popular movies are Nachavule, Snehituda, Aravind 2 and Snehituda. Recently she was also in news headlines when she talked about casting couch. She  said, “My first director Nani tried casting couch with me, and when i declined, he tried to ruin my career.”

We will have to wait and see how many votes Madhvai Latha will get.
