Kollywood superstar Rajinikanth has made announcement that he will not contest in upcoming parliamentary polls. And he also made it clear that he would not support any party in the polls. On Sunday, Rajinikanth released a statement and said, “I will not be contesting in the Lok Sabha polls. Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election is our goal.” He added, “No one should use my pic or flags in the name of Rajini Makkal Mandram and Rajini Fan Club to support or campaign for any party.”
2.0 actor asked the people to vote for a party which will form a strong government at the Centre and will work towards solving Tamil Nadu’s water problem.
With this statement on the Tamil Nadu’s water concerns, the analysts say that Rajinikanth is indirectly pressing people to vote for BJP (Bharitya Janatha Party).
Rajinikanth’s announcement comes amid reports of AIADMK and BJP(Bharitya Janatha Party) finalizing an electoral deal for the Lok Sabha election in Tamil Nadu.
Rajinikanth had announced his political entry on the occasion of New Year 2018 and he was expected to announce the launch of his political party last year on 12th December on the occasion of his birthday. But he said that he was in no hurry.
Meanwhile, actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan has already floated his political party Makkal Needhi Maiam and confirmed that his party will be contesting the Lok Sabha polls 2019.
