Samantha Akkineni has started the preparation for her next upcoming movie – the remake of Korean movie Miss Granny, in which she will make her screen presence in dual role. Today Samantha took to her Twitter and opened up about her new Beginnings. She tweeted, “Prepping for my most interesting charecter yet … I’ve realised I get scared a lot , I am nervous all the time ,but I have never not accepted a challenge . Sometimes ,actually most times you are stronger than you think you are .. #new beginnings.”
The remake of Miss Granny will be directed by Nandini reddy. It is all about the story of an old lay, who regains her youthful appearance after visiting the mysterious photo studio. The sources say that Samantha Akkineni will be seen playing 70 years old lady in this remake. Suresh Babu is going to co-produce Samantha starrer Telugu remake of the acclaimed Korean drama, Miss Granny, in association with Sunitha Tati of Guru Films.
Samantha Akkineni is very excited about this upcoming Telugu remake of Miss Granny. But according to her, she has accepted a very challenging role . She feels that the movie will show her in a new light.
The shoot of Samantha and Nandini Reddy has started. This is second film in their combination. Nanidini Reddy wrote on her Twitter,” A new journey begins today with a fabulous cast and crew…… my theory is that if I have fun making this, then you will enjoy watching it…… so all set to have a blast ….. Movie number 4 …. here goes.”
Miss Granny was directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk. Na Moon-hee played the lead role and the movie was opened to packed houses on 22nd January, 2014 and turned out to become a huge box office hit. It grossed US$51.7 million at the box office.
On the other side, Samantha will also be seen in Naga Chaitanya starrer Majili.
