Richa Chadha also shared the first look poster on her Twitter and captioned it, “Bold and fearless. PRESENTING THE FIRST LOOK OF #Shakeela! @lankeshindrajit @ShakeelaFilm”
Some harsh comments on the poster, which shows that Shakeela had to hear disturbing comments like ‘Kitni Kaali Hai’, ‘Ek Khan hoke Aisa Kaam’, , and ‘Yeh Moti Ke Liye Bada Parda Bhi Chhota Hai’.
Few weeks ago, the makers also released the logo poster of Shakeela biopic and has tag line ‘Not A Porn Star’, which raises our excitement for this upcoming biopic.
Shakeela is based on the life of the South Indian actress of the same name, whose popularity soared after the untimely and tragic demise of Silk Smitha.
Shakeela is directed by Indrajit Lankesh and produced by Magic Cinemas and Yoddhas Entertainment is now all set to release in Summer 2019 in Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam.
Shakeela was known primarily for her roles in adult movies and her phenomenal success made her several enemies and said to have caused ripples in male dominated industry of the time. Her box office was often responsible for helping the cinema halls survive in B and C towns in South.
Recently during the media interaction, Richa Chadha said, “I am not going to put on weight to play the role of Shakeela, as I feel that aspect is quite superficial. The upcoming biopic is all about the story of one woman standing up for herself in a male-dominated society and being targeted for being successful.“
